Production Team Leader

Summary: 

Hartley Brothers Manufacturing has been providing quality cabinetry to the commercial industry since 1983. Currently, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Shop Team Leader to oversee our millwork production team. The successful candidate will lead, motivate, and manage a team to ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Direct and manage the shop floor team, including machine operators and assemblers. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Production Management: Oversee daily production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products. Update schedules as necessary to meet changing demands.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet quality standards set by industry standards and HBM management.

  • Safety: Promote and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.

  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and facilitate skill development programs. Coach team members to improve performance.

  • Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between shop floor workers and upper management. Communicate goals, changes, and feedback effectively.

  • Problem Solving: Diagnose production issues and resolve conflicts if they arise.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present performance reports to management, highlighting achievements, issues, and areas for improvement.

 

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Carpentry experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manufacturing specifications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which may include standing for long periods, lifting, and working with machinery.
